Objective
Produce, edit and color-grade the 95-second film Martian used to announce Ship, its frontier-model endpoint, on July 21, 2026, all in one 12-hour day.
About This Project
Martian works on AI interpretability, and Ship is its endpoint for frontier models. Martian announced Ship on July 21, 2026, and the launch post on X carried a 95-second film. Sunlyte Productions produced the film, edited it and graded the color, all in a single 12-hour day.
A model endpoint has no physical product to film. The film carries the launch through Martian's two cofounders explaining how Ship works and why it lowers the cost of frontier models. The camera's job is to keep those two explanations clear, credible and easy to watch for a minute and a half.
Our Approach
The film was shot, edited and graded in one 12-hour day, so the plan had to be simple: one interior set, two cofounders, and a wide and a close framing on each of them. That coverage lets the edit cut between the two explanations without losing the thread. Shallow depth of field and soft, directional light keep attention on each cofounder's face and hands.
The cut follows the argument. Each beat gets the framing that suits it, and the grade holds one warm look across both cofounders.
