About This Project
Political campaign video is persuasion under a deadline: Cecilia Lunaparra's run for Berkeley City Council needed a film that introduced the candidate, carried her platform, and moved voters — all inside a race's compressed timeline.
Sunlyte Productions produced the campaign video with a documentary sensibility, putting the candidate's own voice and presence at the center. The result is a piece built for the places campaigns actually reach voters: social feeds, community screenings, and the campaign site.
Our Approach
Dave Suchanek directed, produced, and edited; Beshoy Saad operated camera and handled the color grade. Campaign work rewards a small, fast crew — fewer people, more access, footage that feels like the community it was shot in.
The grade keeps the film honest and warm rather than glossy. A city council race is won on trust, and the visual language was chosen to match.
Berkeley voters are a discerning audience for media, and the film respects that — no stock footage, no manufactured drama, just the candidate, her community, and a clear case for her platform delivered in under the length of a commute.
